5. Will Oilette be safe for skin with acne?
Oilette product is also formulated to be non-comedogenic (non-pore clogging). So, it is safe for acne skin. When you have acne skin, don't be afraid of putting on the right oil products for your skin. Skin with acne will also need to be moisturized to help the healing process and stay healthy. Oil has various fatty acids that help clarify pores. When skin is deficient in the right acids, the skin's natural sebum becomes thick and sticky which clogs pores and creates acne.
6. Will Oilette products clog my pores?
No. Oilette products are formulated to be non-comedogenic (non-pore-clogging).
7. Are Oilette® baby cleansing products tear-free?
Eyes would naturally react by creating tears when something gets to them. It is their way to defend themselves. No any liquid product, including water, is tear-free. Any things foreign to the eyes would make eyes create tears. Yes, it includes the plain water. With our most carefully chosen ingredients and formulations for baby or facial cleansers and washes, the mildest sting or discomfort it should brings to eyes.
Yet, we recommend keeping any products out of the eyes regardless if it’s labeled “tear-free” or not, and wash it out immediately when any does get to the eyes.
When manufacturers make tear-free shampoos, they use synthetic surfactants. Most of on the market's tear free baby products has Peg-80 Sorbitan Laurate as one of its ingredients. We opted not to use it since this ingredient has been linked to allergies, immunotoxicity, liver damage, cancer and non-reproductive organ system toxicity, not to mention growth hormone interruptions. Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS) and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate are also common syntehetic surfactants that do not create eye irritation. Avoiding those ingredients, we always try our best to create the mildest-to-eyes baby shampoo and cleansing products with not only available mild ingredients, but also safe to use ones.
While tear-free shampoo doesn’t contain ingredients that will irritate the eyes, the bath water or other things may still cause eye irritation during a bath.
8. Is it necessary to wash baby face every day?
In general, baby face can only be cleaned with wet towel or warm wet towel when some grease from their milk or meals get on their cheeks. But overtime, some babies develop some kind of rash that looks like heat rash on their forehead. At that time, cleaning their face can be done with gentle cleanser once in a while to get rid of that accumulated baby sebum that may occur. Usually rashes will fade away after cleaning. Just observe them. Every baby is different. Some needs cleansing more often.
If a different kind of rashes happens, it could be another cause. Consult with your baby dermatologist for a better diagnose. It could be a sign of eczema or allergy.
9. If my child has a nut allergy, can we use these products?
We do not use peanut oils in the formulas. However, although the case is very rare, sunflower seed oil or cocoa butter could sometimes cause allergic reaction to peanut sensitive person. Thus, it is always recommended to perform a Skin Patch Test to test for any personal allergic reactions.
